EXPLANATION OF HOW HEROES ARE SELECTED! It is acknowledged there are scores of heroes. Why then are they not all on this website? Because each candidate requires extensive reading in order to offer reliable information and interesting anecdotes. Also, because this website is a one-servant operation the addition of heroes is a slow process. Sorry.

Obtaining permissions for use of photos is time-consuming and often impossible. 2. A website with hundreds of photos and images requires enormous storage space. So 'Heroes of History' can only offer visitors an extensive reading list from which they may pursue (from their library or Interlibrary Loan) more photos and images.
